St. Louis – Jurors in St. Louis County are deliberating the case of man accused of killing a teenager 32 years ago.
Gregory Bowman has been charged with murder in the death of Velda Rumfelt,
who was found strangled in a field in 1977.
Both sides agreed during closing arguments that the case hinges on a pair of underwear prosecutors say were taken from the victim's body and had traces of Bowman's DNA.
Bowman had previously admitted to two separate killings in the late 1970s in the Metro East, but the convictions were overturned. Those charges have been refiled.
