St. Louis, MO – Across St. Louis thousands of children headed to work with their parents Thursday.
After a decade of organizing Take Our Daughters to Work Day the Ms. Foundation for Women changed the focus of the program to Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work.
Employees at Mastercard International in O'Fallon participated. Mastercard Spokesperson Amanda Gioia says 500 children took part Thursday.
It gives kids an opportunity to see what their parents do when they're at work," she said. "And it also gives kids an idea of what they should be studying if they want to work at a place like MC. We're the technology HQ so math and science are very important and they can see that.
The Ms. Foundation hopes the new program broadens discussion about work and family issues.
