Chicago, IL – St. Louis's Channel 11, KPLR-TV has been sold to the Tribune Company of Chicago.
ACME Communications agreed to sell the station, plus another WB affiliate in Portland, Ore. for $275 million.
Once this deal is done, Tribune will own and operate 26 stations, 19 of which are WB affiliates. The company also owns 12 daily newspapers, including the Chicago Tribune, as well as the Chicago Cubs.
