St. Louis – Cardinals manager Tony La Russa has filed a lawsuit against the Twitter internet service. He claims a fake page using his name damaged his reputation.
The suit filed last month in San Francisco seeks unspecified damages.
La Russa claims someone created a fake account in his name and posted updates, known as "tweets," that gave the false impression that the comments came from La Russa.
The suit says the comments were "derogatory and demeaning" and damaged La Russa's trademark rights.
The Twitter account in question is no longer active.
