Lambert Ready for Busiest Travel Day

By T. Weber, KWMU

St. Louis, MO – As airports around the country prepare for the busiest travel day of the year, Lambert Field officials in St. Louis are confident they'll be ready.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving as everyone returns from their holiday trips is traditionally the busiest travel day of the year. Bill Switzer, who oversees the security at Lambert, says the airport has added four lanes of security checkpoints to get people to their gates faster.
He says passengers shouldn't wait more than 10 to 15 minutes at the longest in security lines.

Switzer says Lambert will probably see 25,000 more people this weekend than average. AAA Motor Club says more than five million people will fly this weekend -that's nearly a nine percent increase from last Thanksgiving.
