Drivers traveling on Interstate 64 in both directions this weekend will face lane closures and possible delays.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close all the lanes and ramps on eastbound I-64 between Jefferson and 6th Street at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27. The ramps from Pine St., Forest Park Ave. and Ewing to eastbound I-64 will close at 7 p.m. on Friday.

MoDOT crews will open one lane of the highway at 14th Street for the crowds going to the St. Louis Blues game on Saturday, but all other drivers looking to get to downtown will need to use Jefferson 0r 20th Street.

Crews will also close one lane on westbound I-64 in downtown between 5 a.m. Saturday and 8 p.m. Sunday. If the right lane is shut down, MoDOT will also close the ramp from 10th Street to the interstate. If the left lane is closed, the ramp from Broadway to the interstate will be closed, but both ramps will not be shut down at the same time.

All the downtown closures except the 6th Street ramp will reopen by 3 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30. That ramp will be closed until Feb. 13, but crews will have the 11th Street ramp open, which will become the last eastbound I-64 exit in Missouri.

The closures were canceled last weekend because of the icy weather.

In addition to the downtown closures, MoDOT will also be closing two lanes of westbound I-64 just west of Mason for pavement repairs. The right lane will close at 4 p.m. Saturday, and crews will shut a second lane after rush hour. All the lanes in St. Louis County will re-open by 10 a.m. Sunday. MoDOT is encouraging drivers to use alternate routes.
