Lawmakers Agree to Restore Some General Relief

By AP/KWMU

Jefferson City, MO. – State lawmakers Monday agreed to put some money back into General Relief.

Low-income Missourians were getting $80 dollars a month from the program. But budget cuts recently dropped that amount to just nine dollars. Monday's deal would bump the checks back up to $70.

The additional money still needs final approval in the House and Senate.
