"Logo" bandit strikes twice in a day

A bank robber the Federal Bureau of Investigation has dubbed the "Logo bandit" for his habit of wearing  athletic apparel while committing his crimes has struck again.

The FBI's St. Louis office says the man approached a teller at the Bank of America at 9661 Manchester Rd. around 10:30 a.m. today and presented a demand note to the teller. The robber did not display a gun or indicate that he possessed a weapon.

About 3.5 hours later, the same man entered a Truman Bank at 8151 Clayton Rd. and robbed that bank in the same manner. Both times, the bandit made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

The two robberies are believed to be the 6th and 7th committed by the "Logo Bandit." And today's robberies are the 3rd and 4th already this year. One bank - the Pulaski Bank at 900 Olive St. downtown was hit on Tuesday and Wednesday by two different burglars.

The FBI has information on all the area's bank robberies available on its website. Tips can be submitted online or by calling 866-371-TIPS.
