Edwardsville, Ill. – Madison County, Ill. judge Nicholas Byron said yesterday he'll no longer hear asbestos lawsuits.
He didn't give any reason for the move when he made the announcement in court Wednesday.
Madison County has a large asbestos docket. More than 900 asbestos lawsuits were filed there in 2003. Byron had been hearing the cases for about a decade.
He'll now be assigned to other types of lawsuits.
