Man Drives Into Sunset Hills Church During Services

By AP/KWMU

Sunset Hills, MO – A man claiming to be Jesus drove his car through the doors of church in Sunset Hills on Sunday during services.

No one was injured; the man reportedly had walked into the Life Christian Center, disrupted services claiming he was Jesus, and then escorted out by ushers. While waiting for police, the 29-year old man got into his car and drove into the church lobby.

Bomb and arson squads were called in because the man tried to give the pastor a cedar box. It was unclear what was in the box, but police later found a Bible and a St. Christopher medal.

Members of the suburban St. Louis church said special prayers for the man last night. The man is from Fenton; his sister says he hasn't been the same since being injured in a 1997 boating accident that killed their father.

No word yet on any charges against the man.
