Meetings continue on future of Manchester Road

By Maria Altman, St. Louis Public Radio

St. Louis, MO. – The future of a five-mile stretch of Manchester Road is the subject of another round of public meetings this week.

Municipal and transportation officials are working on a Master Plan to update the road between Missouri Routes 141 and 109.

This is the fourth round of the so-called "visioning sessions" with the lead consultant The Design Workshop.

Chairman Kurt Kulbertson says they've heard residents' desire to see town centers along the road.

"They told us they would like to see Manchester Road redeveloped over time as a series of places like downtown Kirkwood, with sort of a visual image of small town downtown, if you will," Kulbertson said.

Kulbertson says at the coming meetings they'll discuss what those centers will look like.
