St. Louis, MO – A Metro bus crashed into the side of a building Monday after it hit a delivery truck.
Police say none of the 23 injuries were life-threatening. They say witnesses told them the bus had the green light.
An investigation continues into the crash; no citations have been issued.
The accident happened near downtown St. Louis. Firefighters had to cut away the steering wheel of the bus so the driver could be freed. She complained of leg injuries.
The bus was operated by Metro, which provides bus and light-rail service in the St. Louis area.
Twenty-two of the 23 bus passengers were also injured, but police say none are life-threatening. The truck driver was unharmed.
Police Sergeant Paul Pfeiffer says the northbound bus hit an eastbound truck before crashing into the corner of a vacant building.
