St. Louis – An airman from the Metro East has been killed in Afghanistan as the result of a roadside bomb.
The Defense Department says 24-year-old Senior Airman Bradley R. Smith, of Troy, Ill., died Sunday near Kandahar Airfield.
Smith leaves a wife and infant daughter, who was born in October.
