A 14-year-old Illinois girl whose departure from a St. Louis-area hospital on Sunday prompted a widespread search has been located unharmed at a hospital in Milwaukee.

Brittany Jones' non-custodial father, Dana Jones, reportedly removed the teen from Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, where she was being treated for complications from a 2010 kidney transplant.

Brittany had come to Cardinal Glennon on Feb. 6. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police say Brittany was placed in the custody of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services after a doctor at the hospital became concerned the girl was not receiving the medicine or care she needed. She was in state custody when her father walked out of the hospital with her.

The family is from Elkville, Ill., about 90 miles southeast of St. Louis.
