The latest campaign finance reports show that Democrat Chris Koster is heading into the final weeks of the campaign for Missouri governor with far more money in the bank than Republican Eric Greitens. But the numbers aren’t up to date.

The reports, due Monday, show Koster with $6.58 million on hand. That compares to $2.7 million for Greitens. But those totals are only through Sept. 30. Since then, Greitens has gotten $6.5 million from the Republican Governors Association and Koster has collected at least $1 million from various labor groups.

The upshot is that they are about tied.

The duo’s tallies also don’t include the outside groups that are spending money on the candidates’ behalf but not donating directly to their campaigns.

The latest reports cover only the period since late August. Greitens appeared to raise the most during those two months: $4.2 million, compared to Koster’s $3.5 million, including in-kind contributions.

Here are the latest numbers for the other major-party statewide candidates, as of Sept. 30. The money raised and spent is only for the third quarter reporting period.
