Missouri Executes Sixth Prisoner this Year

Potosi, MO –
Missouri has executed its sixth prisoner this year. Convicted killer William Jones died by lethal injection just after midnight this morning for the murder of a man in Independence.

Both the U.S. Supreme Court and Governor Bob Holden sealed Jones' fate late last night when they refused to step in.

The execution came as the state of Texas killed a one-time federal drug informant from St. Louis. Craig Ogan was put to death last night for murdering a Houston police officer.
