Missouri to Study More Limits on Teen Drivers

By AP/KWMU

Jefferson City, MO – State officials are considering whether
to recommend more restrictions on teenage drivers.

That comes after the National Transportation Safety Board recommended that states prohibit new drivers from carrying more than one teenage passenger.

Missourians younger than 18 already are prohibited from driving between 1 and 5 am -- unless traveling because of school, work or an emergency.

The state Department of Revenue, which issues driver's licenses, is considering whether to ask lawmakers to adopt the suggested restrictions on the number of teenage passengers.

The Legislature meets in January.
