St. Louis, MO – A Missouri Senate interim committee reviewing the state's method of providing foster care and child protective services met in St. Louis Wednesday to gather public testimony. The committee heard from state officials and contract providers who claim they've been harassed by the Missouri Division of Family Services. Republican state senator of John Loudon of Ballwin says it's understood that the state is strapped for resources, but that it's done nothing to correct the problem.
Loudon says the committee wants to know if systemic procedural problems exist within the division. The committee will make recommendations to the full General Assembly after the start of the legislative session.
