Jefferson City, MO – Missouri tax revenues are showing some signs of improvement.
The state Office of Administration says sales taxes collections increased by about 9 percent in May compared with the same month a year ago.
If that growth continues next month, it could break a streak of 10 straight quarters of declining sales tax revenues.
Individual income tax collections in May were about the same as they were a year ago.
Overall, Missouri's net general revenues still were down about 8 percent through the first 11 months of its fiscal year. The state budget year ends June 30th.
