Columbia, Mo. – University of Missouri officials say the school will challenge some of the NCAA allegations against its men's basketball program.

The 19-page report was released Tuesday on the Columbia campus.

The report says one member of the athletic department staff "failed at all times to maintain an environment" of compliance with the rules from 1999 through last year.

The name of that staff member was blacked out on the letter that the university released.

Men's basketball coach Quinn Snyder apologized to fans and alumni for the damage done.

"I recognize that mistakes have been made in the operation of our basketball program and I stand or sit here today and once again take full responsibility for the commission of those mistakes," Snyder said.

Chancellor Richard Wallace says the university has until July 1 to mount its challenge to the charges, including one that the school made a cash payment to former basketball star Ricky Clemons.

The report also cites recruitment violations, extra benefit violations, ethical conduct violations and compensation misconduct by the football program in 1999 and 2000.
