MODOT Touts its Accountability

By B. Raack, KWMU

St. Louis, MO – The Missouri Department of Transportation today delivered what it calls its most comprehensive annual report ever to state lawmakers.

MoDot has been a target for criticism in past years because of its failure to complete long-range projects, and a statewide tax hike for transportation funding failed this spring. Department spokesman Jeff Briggs says for these reasons, they wanted this year's report to be as inclusive as possible.

The report finds that MoDot completed more than 200 construction projects over the past year, costing nearly $600-million.
