By AP/St. Louis Public Radio

Jefferson City, Mo. – A Missouri judge has again denied a request to let a teenager accused of killing a 9-year-old neighbor continue her education while awaiting trial.

Alyssa Bustamante, 16, is charged as an adult with first-degree murder for last fall's killing of Elizabeth Olten in a rural area west of Jefferson City.
Bustamante is jailed without as she awaits trial next spring.

She was a high school sophomore when she was arrested. Her lawyers say Bustamante should be allowed take distance learning classes. But yesterday a judge denied the request for a second time.

Authorities say Bustaante has the same access to schoolbooks as other inmates.
