The East-West Gateway Coordinating Council is administering a $3 million federal grant to provide transportation services to unemployed and low-income residents who would not otherwise have access to jobs and educational opportunities.
In its initial stages, officials estimate the program could benefit 5,00 to 10,00 people.
KWMU's Kevin Lavery spoke with the council's Dana Morgan about the disconnect between employers who need workers and people who are unable to get to those jobs.
