Jefferson City, Mo. – Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster is requesting a hearing into "possible undisclosed evidence" regarding the conviction of death row inmate Reginald Clemons.
Koster sent a letter to Circuit Judge Michael Manners in Independence, who's been reviewing Clemons' case. The Attorney General cites the discovery of physical evidence, including a so-called "rape kit", from a medical exam performed on the body of Julie Kerry.
In 1991, she and her sister Robin were raped on the Chain of Rocks Bridge in St. Louis and pushed off the bridge to their deaths.
Clemons was one of four men convicted in the killings. He maintains that he's innocent, and his supporters say that there is not enough physical evidence to convict him of murder.
A hearing on a separate issue in the case is scheduled the week of May 10th.
