New Support Group for Soldiers' Families During War

By B. Raack, KWMU

St. Louis, MO – A support group for those with relatives involved in the war in Iraq will meet for the first time later this week.

The organizations Life Crisis Services and Kids Under Twenty One are giving military families the chance to talk with and console one another.

Sue Self, with Life Crisis Services, says those who have soldiers overseas sometimes need help to cope during times of war.

There's a whole lot of sense of not knowing where our kids are or what they're doing or how much at risk they are," Self said. "And there's so little information for us here about those kind of specific things that it's really hard to sit and wait for letters or to watch television, those kind of things, she added.

The support group will meet at Life Crisis Services in Richmond Heights on Thursday nights. For more information, call the Life Crisis Business Office: 314-647-3100.
