Nixon Files Suit to Seek School Board Member's Ouster

By AP/KWMU

Ferguson, Mo. – Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon is suing to remove a member of a St. Louis area school board.

Nixon alleges that Riverview Gardens school board member Vincent Dungey is ineligible to hold public office because he has not completed his sentence after pleading guilty in 2000 to three
felony charges of passing bad checks.

Dungey was elected to the school board in April. St. Louis County police showed up at a board meeting lat month to arrest
Dungey, who left before the public meeting. Police said they could not find him in the building.

St. Louis County Circuit Judge ordered Dungey to appear at a hearing on the ouster petition at 8:30 a.m. June 16.
