Jefferson City, Mo. – Missouri Governor Jay Nixon paid tribute today to the victims of Thursday's mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with all the men and women who serve at Ft. Hood...for the families grieving the loss of a loved one, and for the injured soldiers who now face the long road to recovery," Nixon said.

Nixon made those comments during a ceremony at the State Capitol for about 60 Missouri National Guard members returning home from Afghanistan.

Twelve soldiers and one civilian were killed and 30 others were wounded in Thursday's shooting rampage in Texas.

The suspect, Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan, was wounded by a civilian police officer and is reported to be hospitalized in stable condition.
