St. Louis, MO –

Richard Nixon's historic trip to China will be on the stage tonight (Wed), the opera stage.

Opera Theatre of St. Louis is opening the first major production of "Nixon in China" since its first run in the late 1980s.

But unlike Nixon's original trip in 1972, Dick and Pat, along with Kissinger and Chairman Mao will sing their way through China.

KWMU's Tom Weber prepared this report.
