St. Louis – Security officials at Lambert Airport in St. Louis say they expect to screen more passengers this summer.
American Airlines made major cuts to its flight schedule last fall. But Lambert Federal Security Director Bill Switzer says other carriers are drawing extra passengers, especially to the A concourse.
"You might see a slight decrease in American Airlines, but you'll see an increase at Checkpoint-A, where we have six other air carriers that have been functioning," Switzer said.
Officials hope to redesign the checkpoint to add two additional lines for passengers. But it could take six months to a year to get the plans approved.
Switzer says passengers traveling this summer should arrive at least two hours before their flights depart.
