Pentagon Budget Would Cut C-9 at Scott AFB

Scott AFB, Ill. –

Congress last week took its first of many steps in funding the military for the next year.

There are still month's of negotiations to go before defense spending is set, but one mission at Scott Air Force Base is already on the chopping block. President Bush has proposed cutting all funding for the medial evacuation plane called the C-9.

The C-9's retirement has been expected, but some have been caught off guard by how quickly that might just happen. KWMU's Tom Weber prepared this report.
