Police: Child Safe, Father Still At Large In St. Louis County Abduction Case

Update 3:25 p.m. The Amber Alert has been canceled.

Update 2:56 p.m.:St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch says the department is "in the process of cancelling the Amber Alert on Demi Grant. Child is safe and in police custody. Father still at large."

Updated 1:07 p.m. with Amber Alert designation.

St. Louis County Police say they're searching for an 11-month-old girl and her father. An Amber Alerthas been issued.

The father is 23-year-old Bryan Grant, pictured above.

Police say the situation is as follows:

St. Louis County Police Department North County Precinct is investigating a Domestic Assault and Child Abduction that took place just before 9 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the 2600 block of Vanity Fair. An armed 23 year old man kicked in an apartment door of a 21 year old female, who is the mother of his 11 month old child. The mother was forced with the child into his tan Ford Explorer by the subject and drove from the scene. The mother chose to jump from the vehicle at Jennings Station and Hord absorbing minor injuries. The subject and the child are still at large.
