St. Louis – The St. Charles County medical examiner will perform an autopsy Monday on a 22-year-old who drowned in a St. Peters pond over the weekend.
Michael Kowalewski of St. Charles went swimming with friends sometime early Sunday in the pond at Woodlands Sports Park. The pond is about five to seven feet deep.
Friends went hunting for Kowalewski, both in the dark and after sunrise, when they could not find him after getting out of the water.
The Missouri State Water Patrol pulled Kowalewski's body from the water on Sunday.
