St. Louis, MO. – Law enforcement officials are focused on finding the suspect in an eastern Missouri girl's abduction now that she's back with her parents.

Four-year-old Alisa Maier was found wandering outside a car wash in Fenton Tuesday night more than 24 hours after being taken from her front yard in Louisiana eighty miles to the north.

Eye witnesses told police they saw a white man with dark skin and hair in a dark four-door mid-sized sedan drop the girl off. Police say the car's muffler was loud and the wheel covers, at least on the driver's side, were missing.

St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch says he's hoping to get more leads from the public.

"Who showed up with a four-year old child in the last 24 hours that didn't have a four-year old child?" Fitch asked. "Maybe they tried to pass the child off as a nephew or niece. That's what's going to catch this individual. Someone knows what happened other than the suspect."

Alisa was examined at Cardinal Glennon Hospital early Wednesday morning and officials say she appears to be fine.

Officials would not comment on whether she had been assaulted.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 award for information that leads to the suspect's arrest. To reach Crime Stoppers call 866-371-8477.

The St. Louis County Police Department also is taking tips about the case at 314-889-2345.
