Police Say Car that Killed Motorist Was Stolen

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis, MO – An 18-year-old died yesterday after his car collided with an apparently stolen vehicle.

St. Louis police say a stolen vehicle struck Kenneth Wilkerson's car yesterday.

Police caught one of two teenaged-suspects who fled on foot, but the St. Louis-Post Dispatch reports some witnesses say police have the wrong person in custody. Police Chief Joe Mokwa says police and two witnesses identified the suspect.

It's unclear whether police gave chase. Mokwa says police spotted the stolen car nearby but decided against a pursuit. Witnesses are quoted in the Post-Dispatch describing the police car in pursuit.
