Police Standoff Ends Safely

St. Louis, MO – Two suspects are in custody after a lengthy standoff at a check-cashing business on the south side of St. Louis. Names of the men have not been released. They were taken into custody at around
2 pm.

Police say two armed men walked into the Ace America's Cash Express store in the 3600 block of Grand at around 8:45 am and
announced a robbery. The store was not yet open and no customers were inside. A spokeswoman at Ace's corporate office in Texas says the lone employee and a security guard were allowed to leave. No
one was hurt.

A police SWAT team surrounded the building for several hours. Several blocks of Grand Avenue were blocked off.

Police evacuated residents living in apartments elsewhere in the building.
