President Of Meramec Campus Of SLCC Resigns

St. Louis Community College

The President of the Meramec campus of the St. Louis Community College has resigned.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Chancellor Myrtle Dorsey announced in a letter to faculty and students Monday that she had accepted the resignation of Meramec President George Wasson. The resignation is effective immediately.

Wasson's resignation followed criticism about the college's handling of an attack on a female student on campus in part because there were no campus alerts about the attack, and because the suspect was released before any court appearance.

Wildwood Campus President Pam McIntyre will be interim president of the Meramec campus during a search for Wasson's replacement. Wildwood's vice president will be interim president of that campus.
