Presidential campaigns head to Missouri

By AP/KWMU

Washington – Republican presidential nominee John McCain has announced campaign stops next week outside St. Louis and Kansas City.

The McCain campaign says the Arizona senator will attend a rally Monday morning in St. Charles, and one in the afternoon in Belton, Mo., south of Kansas City. Tickets are required for both events.

Doors for the rally at the New Town at St. Charles housing development will open at 7 a.m. Monday, with a preprogram starting at 9 a.m.

McCain's Belton rally will be held at the Bill Harmon Field at Heartland High School and Academy. Doors open at 2:45 Monday afternoon, with a pre-program starting at 3:45.

Democrat Barack Obama announced plans earlier this week for rallies in St. Louis and Kansas City.

He's scheduled to appear Saturday at noon at the Arch grounds.

St. Louis police say they're preparing for a large crowd.
