St. Louis, Mo. – St. Louis Archbishop Justin Rigali will have surgery for prostate cancer Monday. The operation was delayed until the archbishop had recovered from a case of the shingles.
Recent tests found cancerous cells in Rigali's prostate gland, so doctors at St. Mary's Health Center will remove it today. Later tests showed no evidence the cancer had spread. A full recovery is expected.
