Ryan May Pardon Some Death Row Inmates

By AP/KWMU

Chicago, IL – Some Illinois death row inmates, who already hope Governor George Ryan will commute their sentences to life in prison, might be in for a full pardon.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting today that Ryan staffers have been calling some lawyers and investigators to find out whether their clients would have a place to live and work if they were set free.

Ryan will spend his last weekend as Governor giving two speeches on on the death penalty in Chicago. He leaves office Monday.
