Barksdale AFB, Louisiana – Gittins says he needs access to classified information in order to defend Schmidt, a member of the Illinois Air National Guard.
Gittins argues that Pentagon officials have denied him the security clearance he needs to discuss details of the mission.
But the lead government lawyer says Gittins is a civilian lawyer who isn't entitled to such a high security clearance.
