She’s Back! Following Up On ‘Following In Darwin’s Footsteps’

Last month, St. Louis Public Radio's science reporter Véronique LaCapra set off on a trip to the Galapagos Islands.

LaCapra documented the work of two young women scientists who attend the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Her project, "Following in Darwin's Footsteps," was chosen from over 100 proposals submitted to the PRX STEM Story Project. The UMSL graduate students, one from Ecuador and the other from Papua New Guinea, are researching a type of malaria that affects birds.

Host Don Marsh sat down with LaCapra to talk about her reflections of the Galapagos Islands and her journalistic work regarding the trip.
