St. Louis, MO – Evaluators from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will be in the 89 buildings of the St. Louis Public Schools this week to review the district's processes and standards.
The review is not to determine if the district is ready to regain its accreditation, said DESE's chief accountability officer Becky Odneal.
"Right now the district is on track for about two years before we could reconsider a reclassification recommendation," Odneal said. "So this will just be a process where we can hopefully provide useful information to the district."
The state review team will be meeting directly with the district's Special Administrative Board on Tuesday.
A written summary of the review won't be available until next week.
