St. Louis – About 1,000 workers at Chrysler's Fenton North Plant have an extra month to consider a buyout offer.
That news comes as the automaker reached an agreement Sunday with the United Auto Workers Union, the U.S government, and the Italian car maker Fiat.
The deal means the company has cleared another major hurdle as it races toward a Thursday deadline to restructure and sign an alliance with the Fiat Group.
Don Ackerman is the Vice President UAW Local 136 at Chrysler's Fenton North plant.
He said so far so far the specifics of the concession agreement have not been made public.
"As of right now everything is quiet, we have not been able to find out any specifics of whats going on and our membership would like to hear what's going on so we can figure out what we'd like to do," Ackerman said.
Ackerman said the leadership of Fenton's UAW local will likely be called to Detroit in the coming days.
