St. Louis, MO. – Sometime in the next two weeks, helicopter tours will return to downtown St. Louis.
The transit agency Metro has hired Gateway Air Tours to provide the service from a barge near the Arch.
Metro used a $255,000 grant to pay for the barge. Sales manager Tara Creamer says two types of copter tours will be offered
The first one is the St. Louis skyline tour and that is a five minute tour, Creamer said. You basically leave from right here at the riverfront, you go up and you have views of the stadium, of the Arch, basically just the downtown area here on the riverfront. And the cost for that tour is 39 dollars.
Creamer says they will also offer a 20-minute tour of downtown and Forest Park for $99.
This is the first time that helicopter rides have been available downtown since the flood of 1993.
