If you tuned in to our Oct. 15 broadcast of the St. Louis Symphony, you heard quite a special performance. Now, we have more for you from one of the featured musicians of that night.

David Robertson conducted the St. Louis Symphony with violinist James Ehnes as soloist in the United States premiere of Philippe Manoury’s “Synapse” in concerts Oct. 14 and 15 in Powell Hall.  The work was a joint commission by the St. Louis Symphony and the SWR Stuttgart Orchestra.

On Thursday, October 13, following the first rehearsal of “Synapse,” the St. Louis Symphony’s Eddie Silva spoke with violinist James Ehnes. Listen to their conversation via the audio link above.

Mary Edwards is a producer for St. Louis Public Radio's broadcast program, "St. Louis Symphony."
