St. Louis, MO – A suburban St. Louis woman has been sentenced to six months in prison for embezzling nearly $600,000 from her employer.
The sentence was handed down Friday in U.S. District Court for 51-year-old Andrea Wild of St. Peters. She pleaded guilty in April to one federal count of mail fraud.
Federal prosecutors say Wild was an administrative assistant and secretary for a St. Peters business. Over a period of more than six years, she wrote checks from her employer to pay her personal expenses, and wrote some checks directly to herself, illegally taking $573,388.
