STLPR welcomes ... Jenny Simeone, our 2016-17 Diversity Fellow

Aug 1, 2016

Name

Jennifer Michelle Simeone

What your friends call you (on a good day)

Jenny!

Town you consider your hometown

I have no home town — I've moved 21 times all in California — but I do consider California "home" in the general sense.

Your role at STLPR

I'm the newsroom's Diversity Fellow, which is a fellowship designed to make the station's content and staff more inclusive.

Something you've already discovered about St. Louis

The rumors are true! People in the Midwest are so friendly and genuinely kind.

One thing you'd like to know about St. Louis

Where's the best breakfast in St. Louis? [We had a few tips from Camille Phillips on Cityscape. Call ahead to make sure these places are still open.]

A story or piece of audio that makes you proud.

This web debate on racial profiling is something I'm proud of — less for the content, and more for the backstage struggle to get everyone on board for covering legislation like this.

You can keep up with Jenny's reporting on the St. Louis Public Radio website or follow her on Twitter.
