Supermarket Union Starts Negotiations

By Tom Weber, KWMU

St. Louis – Union leaders will start negotiating a new contract Wednesday for about 6,200 workers at St. Louis supermarkets. They work at almost a hundred Schucks, Dierbergs, and Shop 'N Save stores. Their current contract expires in June.

The workers are represented by United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 665, the largest union in Missouri. In all, Local 665 represents more than 15,000 supermarket workers in 46 eastern Missouri counties.
