St. Louis – A teenager has been found guilty in the shooting death of a rookie St. Louis police officer.
Seventeen-year-old Antonio Andrews was convicted Thursday of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 22-year-old officer Norvelle Brown.
Brown was shot while patrolling alone on the city's north side on Aug. 15, 2007.
Prosecutors said that Andrews made a "spur of the moment" decision to shoot Brown.
Andrews, who was 15 at the time, will be sentenced to life in prison without parole on Oct. 9.
In a statement, the St. Louis Police department says officers are happy with the verdict.
