Teen gets life term for murder of man, 89

By AP/St. Louis Public Radio

St. Louis – A St. Louis teenager has been sentenced to life in prison for strangling an 89-year-old man - the same sentence his brother received for the crime.

James Thomas, 19, was sentenced to four concurrent life terms Monday after pleading guilty.

His brother, 26-year-old Louis Wallace, pleaded guilty in October.

Ira Reese was strangled with a telephone cord at his home in 2007. The brothers also pleaded guilty to burglary, auto theft and armed criminal action.
